Halvor Lines, Inc. was founded in 1968 when five partners started hauling snowmobiles for Halvorson Equipment Co. of Duluth, Minnesota. After almost 10 years, one of the partners, Bill Vinje, bought out the other owners and between 1977 and 2001 Halvor Lines grew from 35 units to 200. Throughout the era of regulation and beyond, we grew our fleet without losing our sight of the safety of our people and freight. Today, we transport commodities throughout 49 states and Canada. In the recent years we have opened two new terminals in South Bend, Indiana, and Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.

The company is still run by the Vinje family and holds Bill Vinje’s emphasis on respect, dependability and safety in high regard. We continue his legacy to this day by continually reinvesting in our drivers, equipment and community.  Today we operate over 350 power units and more than 900 trailers.
