1985 Max Fuller and Patrick Quinn establish partnership and begin the formation of U.S. Xpress, Inc.

U.S. Xpress begins operation with 48 trucks and hauls its first load on January 21st, 1986.

In 1987 U.S. Xpress becomes one of the first truckload carriers to fully integrate satellite communications aboard the fleet; company opens terminal and headquarters in Tunnel Hill, Ga.
